This book has really picked up the pace in plot and humor. Colfer inserts a healthy bit of sarcasm in Conner’s dialogue that I just love. HIs addition of more and more fairy tale characters and their personalities creates hysterical set ups. I laughed at Red Riding Hood’s too much makeup and too much skin showing! Red’s numerous paintings of herself show her obsession with herself and everyone else’s lack of interest. Poor Jack, I hope he gets away from Red and gets his heart’s wish to be with Goldie.
Colfer are very wise when he has the character Smithers ask Alex,”Does such a place exist where people can’t unexpectedly be helped or hurt?” Alex then realizes that this land of fairytales is just like her own world, and I did too. One will always have good and evil.
