August 20th – Tupac and D Foster By Ja,cqueline Woodson Conclusion

Unknown

Finished this tonight for Joe, and I was glad. I read it before, and I would read it again for it’s representations of mutl-cultural characters. Also, the character Tash, is a wonderful person whom I would claim as my own wonderful brother. D Foster reminds me of students that I have had cross my path as a teacher. What I learned as a teacher is to never label a child. When the social workers claim that the kids are throwaways. Be careful, as we learn, they might be listening and then you’ll have destroyed them.
